Abunayyan wins key dealerships

01 November 2018

Abunayyan Trading has announced that it is now the dealer for JCB access platforms and Clark forklifts in Saudi Arabia.

With the acquisition of these new agencies, the company said it will expand its range of services in the logistics area to meet the increasing customer demand.

With a solid experience in heavy machinery, Abunayyan Trading is able to leverage synergies such as fleet management, with its own state-of-the-art telemetry centre in Riyadh for the management of vehicle fleets.

With regard to JCB access machines, he said initially nine electric scissor lift models have been rolled out, while there are plans to unveil a full range of scissors and boom lifts including a total of 27 models.

The JCB access platforms are designed in-house, certified by TUV and meet the latest EN280 legislation, he said, adding JCB’s LiveLink telematic system will be incorporated as standard on all booms, and available as an option on the scissors.

JCB is aiming for a slice of the market estimated to be worth $8 billion a year from the 130,000 units sold annually.

“The access market is truly global and offers immense opportunities for growth for JCB,” JCB chairman Lord Bamford said. “It’s a market that is ripe for a new supplier with the ability to offer industry-leading, round-the clock-product support. JCB’s 770 dealers with 2,200 depots can deliver the back-up that global customers expect.”

JCB’s range of access platforms includes nine electric and three diesel scissor lifts from 4.6 to 13.8 m; five articulating booms (four diesel and one electric) from 14.9 to 24.6 m; and 10 diesel telescopic booms from 20.6 to 41.6 m.

The scissor lifts weigh between 1,330 and 3,366 kg. The two smallest models (S1530e and S1930e) have platforms measuring 1.64 m long by 0.76 m wide, while all larger models use a 2.5-m-long platform, except from the largest S4550E model, which has a 2.64-m-long working area. The machines are rated for basket capacity from 227 kg to 550 kg.

The electric scissors are powered by four 6V or 12V batteries, with hydraulic drive.

Clark trucks

Meanwhile, the first order of Clark trucks by Abunayyan Trading for Saudi Arabia include the GTS and C Series with capacities of three to seven tonnes, the GEX and GTX electric three- and four-wheel forklift trucks (1.6 to two tonnes) as well as electric pallet trucks of the PPX series (two tonnes).

According to Abunayyan Trading’s managing director Saide Hamoucha, diesel forklifts still dominate in Saudi Arabia, although electric vehicles are increasingly gaining importance.

Commenting on the partnership, Rolf Eiten, president and CEO of Clark Europe, said: “In Abunayyan Trading, we have found a first-class partner that represents our interests in an emerging Arab market in a dignified manner and with in-depth knowhow. We are looking forward to a successful cooperation.”

Hamoucha stated that the companies share many commonalities and synergies in innovation, customer engagement and customer focus. “We have continued to introduce first-class products in the market as well as maintained long-standing relationships with leading global manufacturers for more than half a century. The partnership with Clark and JCB fits in perfectly with this strategy and helps us meet customers’ expectations,” he said.
