AMS expands with Demag cranes
Aertssen Machinery Services (AMS), a heavy lifting and heavy transport company, has expanded its key operations in the Middle East with the addition of Demag CC 2400-1 and CC 3800-1 lattice boom crawler cranes.
These two cranes will help Aertssen execute challenging projects in the oil and gas and construction sectors, said a top official.
“Equipping our team with the latest crane innovations is an important part of our customer commitment, and Demag is an industry leader in that area,” remarked Tony Nuyts of Aertssen Machinery Service, which has a major presence in the Gulf region.
“These crawler cranes are easy to transport, quick to rig and come with an IC-1 control system with an intuitive touchscreen,” he stated.
Al Maha Ceramics boosts QC
Al Maha Ceramics of Oman has successfully added an advanced quality control system to its manufacturing facility in Sohar.
The company is renowned for its innovative product heritage backed up by superior quality and keeps abreast of the cutting-edge technological developments in tiles production.
Rajeev Singh, senior general manager, Al Maha Ceramics, said: “We have brought the most advanced quality control system from Sacmi Italy, a leading ceramic machinery manufacturer in the world. This will help in automation of quality check before final packing; earlier it was a tedious manual process which involved human monitoring.
“The addition of this novel quality control system will eradicate any risk of human error in quality checks.”
Bahrain airport to test ORAT
Bahrain International Airport (BIA) has entered into its key phase of development with the launch of the national Operations Readiness and Airport Transfer (ORAT) familiarisation programme to test its new passenger terminal building.
Held in collaboration with Fraport Frankfurt Airport Services Worldwide, which is providing consultancy services for the new terminal, the ORAT aims to efficiently prepare the huge number of stakeholders for one of the largest national projects in the kingdom’s history, said Bahrain Airport Company (BAC).
Meanwhile, Bahrain International Airport has selected Johnson Controls’ aviation-specific CEM Systems AC2000 Airport access control solution to secure the facility.
