Doosan gensets aim to meet diverse needs

Doosan Portable Power (DPP) says it offers a wide choice of high-quality generators for various applications ranging from the construction site, to the concert stage and to the front lines of disaster relief efforts.

The DPP generator range offers hire companies, contractors, event organisers, emergency services, general industry and many other customers the highest quality, backed by dedicated technical and service support worldwide, says a spokesman for the company.

Among its latest range of products that are now commercially available is the G20 generator, providing a prime power output of 19 kVA and driven by the Yanmar 4TNV88 18 kW diesel engine, meeting EU Stage V engine emission levels for generators.

The spokesman says of particular interest for the rental market would be the fuel tank configuration on the G20 generator that ensures autonomy of at least 47 hours at 75 per cent of the load. Safe and easy access to operation and maintenance areas has been a priority throughout the design of this generator, he adds.

“A user-friendly feature is the electrical control and power compartment which has been designed to meet the highest safety, reliability and flexibility requirements. All control functions are grouped together on the 4510 Deep Sea Electronics simple-to-use operator control panel, displaying critical operating parameters at a glance,” the spokesman says

In addition to its new Stage V products, DPP will continue to offer the existing range running from the G30IIIA to the largest G500IIIA model, offering robustness and reliability, high performance and a wide choice of features to meet the needs of temporary power applications.

DPP showcased its G20 generator at the recent bauma 2019 - a leading construction machinery show held in Munich, Germany, last April – alongside a range of other new Stage V-compliant products such as its 12/205 and 12/255 portable compressors, the new 7/53R portable compressor for the rental industry, and the new BL400 Balloon Light.

The 12/205 and 12/255 are part of a new generation of large Doosan Stage V portable compressors, with nine models offering free air deliveries from 14.0 to 30.0 cu m/min at operating pressures from 7.0 to 21.0 bar.

Low pressure models are powered by the new Cummins B6.7 Stage V engine, whilst the high pressure compressors are powered by the new Cummins L9 Stage V engine. All the compressors are equipped with an integrated after-treatment system and provide increased fuel efficiency.

“These new Stage V compressors are built to Doosan’s high quality standards, reliability and durability, again combining a compact size with enhanced serviceability to ensure ease of use and an outstanding return on investment,” says the spokesman.

All the models also offer increased environmental protection via a standard bunded base and the optional ECOmizer system, resulting in up to 30 per cent reduction in fuel consumption depending on the application.

Large portable compressors like these are used to provide compressed air for a wide range of drilling and boring machines for quarrying, mining, site investigation, geothermal, mineral exploration and water well construction work. They also cover other specialist applications such as abrasive blasting, spray painting and standby and temporary compressed air for industry.

Meanwhile, the new 7/53R portable compressor supplies 5.0 cu m per minute of compressed air at a rated pressure of 7 bar. Designed to meet O1 trailer category requirements – the 750 kg category – the 7/53R is suited not only for the rental market but also as a durable, cost-effective machine for the 5.0-cu-m-per-minute segment, covering the most common applications in construction, utilities and other markets.

Like all DPP compressors, the modular design of the 7/53R ensures that a wide range of optional equipment can be added easily. As well as ‘Tough Top’ polymer – a new feature in the 7/53R model – or steel canopies, the options can include customer colours, LED lights, a heavy-duty light grill, a number plate clip, wheel nut indicators, fixed or variable height running gear, an aftercooler with water separator and a 110 per cent fluid content bunded base.

Among new lighting products from DPP is the BL400 Balloon Light, which uses the latest in LED technology to light up large areas of space quickly using 400 W lights.
