01 September 2019

Engie Cofely, an international leader in providing low-carbon energy and innovative integrated facilities management solutions, has been awarded the contract to provide infrastructure operation and maintenance services to Aldar Properties’ Al Raha Beach, Shams Al Reem Island and Saadiyat Island projects in Abu Dhabi.

The initial contract is for a two-year period and includes infrastructure operation and maintenance of all public realm assets including potable water, irrigation, storm and sewerage networks and their respective pump station and reservoirs, including HV/LV (high voltage and low-voltage) power networks.

Engie Cofely will also provide services covering the operations and maintenance of the roads network, street and landscape lighting and traffic signals, as well as canal marine facilities, beaches, pedestrian bridges, site offices, welfare facilities and security management services.

“Engie Cofely, which has already had a strong presence and experience in providing infrastructure O&M services to Yas Island, will now be carrying out similar services at Shams Al Reem, Saadiyat Island and Al Raha Beach in order to preserve them for the future,” explained Khaled Ramadan, Abu Dhabi operations manager of Engie Cofely.

“Roads, streetlights, sewage, water pumping stations and electric systems are all major examples of economic infrastructure and these systems tend to be high-cost investments that are vital to any economic development. In addition, with such a big scope, Engie Cofely’s capabilities for major future infrastructure O&M projects in the region will definitely be increased even further.”

The three developments are located in Abu Dhabi and offer a wide selection of services and amenities to guests and residents alike. Al Raha Beach is a vibrant mix of premium residential, commercial, cultural, entertainment and public amenities, offering 5.2 million sq m of natural beachfront, while Saadiyat Island is a tourism and cultural project for nature and Emirati heritage and culture. Shams Abu Dhabi is nestled between the landmarks of Saadiyat Island and Abu Dhabi Island and promotes rich city living.
