Work starts on suspended mosque

Work on the highest suspended mosque in the world, which will be constructed in the city of Makkah, has started, according the real estate committee, which is affiliated with the Makkah Chamber of Commerce.

The mosque will link the two skyscrapers making up the Jabal Omar Tower and have a panoramic view of the Makkah Grand Mosque and the Kaaba.

The suspended mosque will also be connected to the Grand Mosque using hi-tech acoustic and audiovisual equipment.

Once completed, the 161-m-high and 10-m-wide mosque will be able to accommodate 200 worshippers simultanously.

Half  of the 400-sq-m mosque will be allocated for prayer areas while the other half will be used for other services.
