Saudi-based The Red Sea Development Company (TRSDC) has awarded a contract for a time-lapse photography system to document the construction progress at its ultra-luxury tourism destination coming up along the west coast of Saudi Arabia.
After a competitive tender, the contract was awarded to EarthCam for the provision of a turnkey solution covering 13 different locations including onshore and offshore locations around the destination site.
“Time-lapse videos and photographs are essential to tell the story of the construction development, provide project documentation and remotely monitor and archive construction progress at the destination,” remarked John Pagano, CEO at The Red Sea Development Company.
“We selected EarthCam based on their global experience and proven track record in delivering quality images and video, plus the commitment made to set up the systems in record time,” he stated.
As per the deal, EarthCam will deploy the latest advanced technology to create a completely independent system at each location. These systems will enable remote viewing on PC and smart phone, providing live video footage in addition to image updates every 30 minutes, it stated.
EarthCam will provide monthly time-lapse videos for each of the islands under development for the first phase of the project, along with inland construction at the airport, Southern Dunes and Desert Rock resorts, management and construction villages, and at the crossing to the hub island.
The Red Sea Project will welcome its first guests by the end of 2022. The first phase of the development will include 14 luxury hotels offering 3,000 rooms across five islands and two inland locations. It will also include entertainment facilities, an airport, and the necessary supporting logistics and utilities infrastructure, said the developer.
