Traka Assa Abloy, the leading specialist in intelligent asset management solutions, has announced the successful integration of its advanced key and asset management software at Atlantis, The Palm, allowing the iconic Dubai hotel to offer its guests the highest level of hospitality and security.

Using the company’s intuitive, browser-based asset control software, TrakaWEB and Traka Touch technology provides all the tools necessary to centrally manage all Traka key cabinets and lockers, says the company.

“With the ability to regionalise administrative control, different areas of an organisation can customise security needs to make keys and assets more efficient and effective for the business,” says a spokesman for the company. “Additionally, it is designed for easy and simple integration into existing third-party systems, for a seamless deployment process while greatly reducing administration overheads.”

Traka has been the key management solution of choice for Atlantis, The Palm since 2009.  The company manages nearly 600 keys throughout the luxury resort, including systems at housekeeping, fish loading bay, the water park and other key areas across the site.

A key priority for hoteliers at all levels of property operations is high-level security.  This is to guarantee guest safety and peace of mind, as well as to deliver unmatched experiences that differentiate the hotel brand.  Currently, however, access control systems are not given as much importance as surveillance cameras or fire alarms in an organisation’s security strategy.

Roshin Roy, regional business development manager – Middle East, Traka Assa Abloy explains: “Key and asset management are as crucial as CCTVs and fire alarm systems when it comes to best practices in security.  The hospitality industry in particular, is one that is continuously changing.  As the demands of the industry and the hotel guests evolve, businesses must adapt in order to move forward to the future.”

An efficient access control system is important for operational reliability and safety as it enables managers to track changes made to devices and prioritise threat mitigation efforts.  Not only does it increase the effectiveness and efficiency of hospitality companies, but equally important, it also fosters innovation in the industry, he says.

“It’s a great privilege to be involved with Atlantis, The Palm for nearly 10 years and to have project managed the hotel’s recent upgrade to our latest generation hardware and software is truly an exciting development, both for Atlantis and the industry in general.

“With the integration of TrakaWEB and Traka Touch technology to their system, Atlantis’ security team is assured that their master and other critical keys are accounted for and that operating processes are working efficiently while guest security is never compromised.  The resort’s attention to key control through the use of our systems is a reflection of their strong commitment to continuing evolution for operational efficiency in order to deliver a new level of guest experience,” Roy comments.

Trevor Korb, security director at the Atlantis, The Palm, comments: “Key management is of critical importance not only for the safety and security of all of our staff and guests, but also for the smooth running of our operational processes. Our use of Traka systems has meant that key management has been automated, removing the margin for human error and freeing up staff time to focus on other important functions.”

TrakaWEB and Traka Touch technology provide a distinct set of features keeping users in control, all the while optimising business processes at a lower cost.  A three-tier architecture, data, application and presentation layers work together to enable TrakaWEB and Traka Touch to be efficient and highly scalable.  It also brings users and items side by side, making it easy to grant access to multiple items quickly and efficiently. Furthermore, TrakaWEB and Traka Touch technology provides an auto-sync system for all changes, while a suite of reports is also provided to help better utilise the assets that need to be controlled.

Meanwhile, Traka, in conjunction with Maxxess Systems, has developed a seamless integration with Maxxess’ eFusion open platform, to allow complete site control, centralise site visibility and present real-time monitoring, ensuring situational awareness for all assets, safely and securely.

eFusion with Traka makes it simple for authorised staff to gain access to a wide range of controlled assets, from keys and premises to high value equipment, vehicles and machinery.

The new integration enables full traceability and audit reports that can include video and audio recordings, as well as transactional data from systems such as access control, intruder, human resources (HR) and fire.

Martin Woodhouse, Traka head of Asia Pacific, Middle East, India and Africa (APACMEA), says: “Maxxess is one of the foremost global innovators within the security industry, its eFusion system is renowned as presenting a seamless opportunity to integrate to third-party systems. Now together with Traka, we can deliver a significant futureproof technology that paves the way for users to benefit from one all-encompassing building control system.”

“The power of this new integration brings together Traka’s intelligent key and equipment management systems with eFusion’s flexible cloud architecture, developing a solution that will deliver exciting advances in security and operational efficiency. It will not only benefit major new-build projects, but also open new opportunities for existing users of eFusion and Traka. We look forward to building on this exciting partnership with Maxxess, which we jointly believe continues to deliver real benefits to our valued customers.”

As with all Traka solutions, the integration with Maxxess’ eFusion presents audit capabilities across its key cabinets and lockers, and enables instant traceability and reporting. Other important features include fault logging, curfews and multiple authorisations, which provide tangible returns on investment by improving operational efficiency, increasing productivity and minimizing costly downtime.

Traka’s integration with Maxxess eFusion can be seen at Traka’s stand at Intersec Dubai, at Dubai’s International Convention and Exhibition January (19 to 21).
