EvoQuip, a leading compact crushing and screening equipment brand owned by Terex, has introduced a new hybrid hook-lift jaw crusher that is said to be ideally suited to process hard rock as well as construction and demolition recycling applications.
The Bison 160 Hybrid is the fourth model in the brand’s popular Bison series and the first to utilise hybrid diesel-electric drive technology to reduce running costs, in addition to cutting noise and fuel emissions, making it an ideal machine for working in urban areas, says Matt Dickson, EvoQuip Product Line Director.
The dual-powered Bison 160 is equipped with a proven 700 mm x 500 mm single toggle hydraulically adjustable jaw crusher.
The innovative electric drive allows customers to reverse the crusher to clear a blockage or run in reverse for asphalt recycling, ensuring better all-round efficiency, Dickson says.
The optional deflector plate is fitted on the moving jaw, providing belt protection by allowing uncrushable objects to pass through the crushing chamber and onto the discharge belt.
“The Bison 160 jaw crusher is a highly adaptable machine and has been designed with the specific needs of the owner/operator in mind. This makes it the ideal solution for contractors and operators working in space-restricted sites. Ease of transport, compact size, ease of operation and quick set-up times all mean the Bison 160 can get to site easily and begin operation within minutes of unloading,” he explains.
The Bison 160 Hybrid, Dickson says, is ideal for recycling with excellent under-crusher clearance, minimal snag points and a short distance between the crusher discharge conveyor and magnet. This overband magnet removes rebar which can be discharged to the right or left of the machine depending on site configuration.
The new Bison 160 includes a heavy-duty vibrating grizzly feeder. The intelligent feeder control system is based on power draw and feed level to ensure optimal material flow in the jaw and throughput.
Dickson continues: “The Bison 160 Hybrid hook-lift jaw crusher represents a new milestone for EvoQuip. It is an ideal crusher for waste contractors who can utilise existing hook-lift vehicles to either bring material to depot for processing or alternatively bring the crusher to the waste on site – turning waste into profit whilst providing excellent productivity and fuel efficiency.
“The incorporation of the hybrid diesel-electric drive technology; quick set-up times, simple operation and ease of transport makes this machine an ideal solution for indoor and outdoor applications, while reducing overall fuel consumption, noise and harmful emissions. These are all issues which our customers have identified as key priorities for the future.”
“Serviceability has always been a cornerstone of EvoQuip equipment, and the Bison 160 Hybrid is no different, with excellent access ensuring maintenance is easy for the operator to carry out,” he says.
Key to the design of the EvoQuip Bison 160 is that it is small enough to fit easily inside a standard 40-ft-high cube container yet is formidable enough to withstand challenging applications, according to Dickson.
EvoQuip offers a comprehensive portfolio of products to address the needs of the compact crushing and screening market in construction and demolition, asphalt recycling, quarrying or contract crushing.
