Bahrain’s Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry said steady progress was being made on the iconic Water Garden development coming up in the kingdom, with Phase Two work on track.
The parking lot and service-only buildings have already been completed, reported BNA, citing the Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf.
He was speaking after inspecting the progress of work on the project which covers 60,000 sq m.
Khalaf stressed upon the importance of conserving the historic identity of the iconic garden, including the lakes which cover a 12,349-sq-m area. He directed the authorities to fast-track the project so that it could be inaugurated within the coming months, adding that most development works are nearing completion as planned, said the BNA report.
Khalaf also underlined the ministry’s strategy to intensify the plantation of environment-friendly trees and expand green spaces.
