Daikin secures Azizi’s HVAC order

Azizi Developments, a leading private developer in the UAE, has awarded an order worth over Dh40 million ($10.8 million) to Daikin for supply of high-end cooling equipment for the developer’s prestigious communities.

The contract comprises heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems for more than 35 of Azizi’s buildings in Riviera, Dubai’s new waterfront-lifestyle landmark in MBR City; Creek Views, a 634-unit modern luxury development in Dubai Healthcare City; as well as for Berton, a well-connected residential development in the heart of Dubai’s new growth corridor, Al Furjan.

The supplied HVAC system comprises 72 of Daikin’s air-cooled chillers, over 10,000 fan coil units and 62 fresh air handling units.

Dewa achieves new world record

After retendering the project, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has achieved a new world record for the lowest water levelised tariff of $0.277 per cu m for its 120-million-gallons-per day (MIGD) Hassyan Sea Water Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) plant.

It is Dewa’s first independent water producer (IWP) model project which will be commissioned in 2024. Dewa said it has adopted the IWP procurement model for the Hassyan desalination plant following the success of the independent power producer (IPP) model at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park projects. The plant will use the latest and most efficient and reliable technology to support Dewa’s water network to ensure sustainable water supply.
