Cinépolis makes UAE debut

Cinépolis Cinemas, the largest movie exhibitor in Latin America and the third largest in the world, has announced its foray into the UAE market with the launch of its premium 10-screen multiplex at Oasis Mall in Sharjah.

Conveniently located on the second floor of the mall, it features 10 screens in three formats: Junior, Macro and Premium. Designed with families in mind, the internationally acclaimed Junior auditorium features a range of seating options and play facilities for children, including bean-bag seating, a large slide, and a ball pit.

The Macro screens at the new multiplex offer a considerably larger format with seats for up to 269 guests and double the size of the average movie theatre screen.  Premium guests reclining deluxe, premium seating options as well as recliner and electric recliner alternatives.

 

Green data centre launched

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) said its key subsidiary Moro Hub (Data Hub Integrated Solutions) has launched the Middle East’s first certified Tier-III green data centre.

The facility, located at Al-Yalayis, Dubai, is the region’s first data centre fully powered by solar energy.

The first certified Tier-III new Green Data Centre will be leveraged to offer digital products and services utilising Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies such as cloud services, Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

 

Dibba sports stadium on track

Fujairah authorities have announced that steady progress has been made on the Dibba Fujairah Sports Club Stadium project, which is being built in Al Ras region of the northern emirate at an investment of Dh100 million ($27.2 million). On completion, it will have a 10,000-seat capacity.

HH Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, reviewed the progress of the stadium during an inspection tour.

He pointed out that the infrastructure projects currently being carried out in Fujairah were in line with the economic and development needs of the local community, and met the emirate’s sustainable development requirements.

“Dibba Fujairah Sports Club Stadium is the newest in the country and meets the requirements of the UAE Pro League and the Asian Football Confederation for holding regional championships,” Sheikh Hamad added.
