Reynaers in its element with innovation

01 December 2020

Reynaers Aluminium, a leading European provider of sustainable architectural aluminium solutions, has launched ElementFaçade 7, a state-of-the-art product which it describes as ‘the element that builds the future”.

With over 20 years of experience in element façades, Reynaers Aluminium’s developers created a next generation of element façades that now gives you the freedom to build the façade of the future.

“ElementFaçade 7 comes with exceptional performance that allows you to push building limits to new heights. Its intelligent design makes ElementFaçade 7 highly efficient to assemble and install. Moreover, the façade system is compatible with standard opening elements and is supported by Reynaers Aluminium from design to delivery,” says Ali Khalaf, Managing Director of Reynaers Middle East, the regional office of the Belgian aluminium systems provider.

An element façade is composed of pre-fabricated elements, which results in fast and economic installation with limited use of manpower and tooling, compared to traditional curtain-walls. This construction approach is suitable for high-rise constructions, allowing for the necessary tolerances with regards to the building’s movement. It also creates the opportunity to finish the construction of the building floor by floor, while enabling parallel construction inside the building, he says.

Element façades provide architects with an almost unlimited freedom of design by enabling the integration of different finishings and by incorporating different techniques. Possibilities include highly insulated structures, ventilated façades, double-skin façades with automatic sun shading and automatically opening windows.

ElementFaçade 7 offers a number of benefits that address the requirements of modern high-rise construction:

•  Flexibility in designing the façade of the future;

•  Intelligent design;

•  Exceptional performance;

•  Efficient and versatile assembly;

•  Compatibility with standard opening elements; and

•  Support from design to delivery.

Façade of the future

ElementFaçade 7 addresses a number of concerns of modern urban construction.

Khalaf explains: “As cities become denser, buildings need more acoustic attenuation. Limited floor area is pushing structures higher and higher, which requires better wind and water performances. With standards and legislation growing more and stricter, energy efficiency and insulation levels of today will no longer serve the building of tomorrow. That is why Reynaers Aluminium delivers products that are ready for the future, today. All of this in an off-the-shelf product.”

Intelligent design

Element Façade 7 has a completely redesigned anchor to allow easy and fast installation and adjustment, as well as increased tolerances to compensate ever-growing live loads, he says. It optimises industrialised fabrication by introducing the straight-cut corner connection, and further increases installation speed by enabling even larger double-element assemblies. This apart, ElementFaçade 7 enables easy glass pane replacement in both structural glazing and glazing bead solutions, for both the element itself and the spandrel area.

Exceptional performance

As a standard system, the ElementFaçade 7 delivers predictable and reliable performances for variations. With water-tightness up to 1,200 Pa and wind loads up to 2,400 Pa, the ElementFaçade 7 reaches exceptional performances, Khalaf says.

Efficient and versatile assembly

It is during the construction stage that the enormous increase in fabrication speed becomes apparent, he points out. “ElementFaçade 7 can be completely prefabricated in a controlled environment of the workshop, which removes disturbing and uncertain factors like cold or wet weather. The prefabrication assures high process reliability and product quality. In addition, more efficient production and reduced on-site construction will benefit all stakeholders as on-site traffic disturbance and pollution are massively reduced,” Khalaf elaborates.

Any type of fabricator can set up his workshop in a highly effective and flexible way. Anything is possible, from a basic machine set-up for 10-sq-m residential projects, up to an industrialised production unit for massive projects of 100,000 sq m or more. ElementFaçade 7 is a versatile system, as next to the clear benefits of the straight cut, the traditional mitre cut remains available as an option, he adds.

Compatible with opening elements

The standard offer includes opening elements specifically designed to fit curtain-wall products. However, Reynaers Aluminium’s in-house project team can draw on their extensive range of standard (standalone) systems for a more complex and customised integration.

Supported from design to delivery

Reynaers Aluminium not only offers aluminium solutions but also a whole network of tools, unique experiences and services to support you in every step of the journey. Its customer portal features all relevant technical information.

“Calculation, ordering and machine programming are fully integrated in – or linked to – our ReynaPro software. ReynaFlow creates a visual dashboard to monitor and manage your logistics and fabrication flow. In-house and even on-site training programmes make sure that everyone knows what to do prior to the building phase, while technical support is available throughout all project phases.

“This wide variety of tools and services makes sure that Reynaers Aluminium continues to be perceived as a reliable, flexible partner who offers a robust, certified system, tailored to your project’s requirements,” he concludes.

Reynaers Aluminium is a leading European specialist in the development and marketing of innovative and sustainable aluminium solutions for windows, doors, curtain-walls, sliding systems, sun screening and conservatories. It is part of the Reynaers Group, which enfolds its several diverse companies in three business units, namely aluminium architectural solutions, steel architectural solutions and building products.
