Naffco Modular, which stakes claim to being the first company in the GCC able to build modular buildings up to 10-storey high without the need to have a RCC core wall, says it is committed to challenging the prevailing notions about modular buildings and showcasing their potential to be aesthetically appealing, functional, and customisable.
“At Naffco Modular, we are actively working to revolutionise the perception of modular buildings in the market,” Beshr Hadidi, General Manager of the UAE-based company, tells Gulf Construction in an exclusion interview.
“Our approach is centered around customer requirements, and we take great satisfaction in designing and delivering modular buildings that span the entire spectrum of affordability and luxury. Whether our clients seek cost-effective and budget-friendly designs or aspire to high-end luxury, we have the expertise and flexibility to create tailor-made solutions that meet their exact specifications.”
Hadidi points out that many potential customers and stakeholders are not fully aware of the benefits and advancements in modular construction.
“Educating the market about the advantages, such as cost-effectiveness, speed, sustainability and design flexibility, is crucial to gaining wider acceptance,” he adds.
The Dubai-based company, which began operations in 2021, aimed to do exactly this when it put up an impressive show at Index, an interior design and fit-out industry exhibition, which was held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from May 23 to 25.
“As part of Index, Naffco Modular targeted the hotel show by preparing a fully modular luxurious hotel suite consisting of a bedroom, living room, bathroom, swimming pool, and a balcony terrace. This luxurious hotel suite was built from two modules in our factories located in Jebel Ali Free Zone and transported directly to the trade centre on low-bed trailers,” he explains.
Naffco Modular module dimensions can go up to a maximum of 12 m x 5 m x 5 m and are made from mild or stainless steel as per the customers’ preferences. Its modular buildings are offered in a huge range of design options to create the architectural style in line with its clients’ requirements.
“Each of our buildings are designed from the ground up, which differentiates us from companies who use a series of standard modules. Our quality, expertise, and service are what sets us apart.
“Our projects are tailored specifically to the customer’s designs and layout, offering a personal service and full solutions from the initial design throughout fabrication, installation, and completion,” Hadidi emphasises.
Naffco Modular’s modular construction methodology and process is based on Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction. Hadidi elaborates that as each building is manufactured in a controlled factory environment, the company is able to ensure that consistent high standards are delivered throughout the construction process.
“In-house design and production means we can identify any problems before they happen. Our team of skilled craftsmen are highly trained and our proprietary construction methods ensure that build quality is of the highest standard.
“Naffco Modular units are crafted with precision using advanced technological machines including cutting-edge robotic welding, laser cutting, and CNC bending machines. The core module is made up of state-of-the-art value-engineered hot rolled-cold formed either mild steel or stainless steel. The walls are made of sturdy cement boards that can take a punching load of 2 tonnes per sq m. The insulation used for the walls, flooring, and ceiling comprises rockwool, glasswool or PU foam as per the customers’ requirements and budget. In addition, high-density rubber insulation is used between the flooring and the steel structure to minimise vibration and increase acoustic features of the module,” he explains.
Naffco is known for partnering up with major key players all over the globe to achieve best product quality and cutting-edge technologies.
This apart, Naffco Modular is well-placed to meet the demands of the modular buildings market backed by the reputation of its Dubai-based parent company, Naffco, which was established in 1991 and is now ranked among the world’s leading producers and suppliers of life safety solutions.
“With the most talented and dedicated employees from around the world, Naffco has more than 15,000 team members including 2,000 engineers and over 8.5 million sq ft of manufacturing facilities. We are currently exporting to more than 100 countries worldwide. Specified products manufactured in our facility has been certified by UL, FM, BSI, LPCB and Global Mark in compliance with international standards. This shows the capabilities of Naffco and the advantages of offering complete solutions under one roof,” Hadidi remarks.
Naffco Modular aims to cater to various sectors of the market including healthcare, education, residential and commercial, public sectors, utilities, and more.
“Its modular solutions are designed to meet the unique needs and requirements of each sector, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective solutions across the board,” he points out.
Naffco Modular is committed to reducing the impact on the environment by improving its buildings’ performance, reducing and recycling waste, and reducing noise and pollution.
“Clients can be assured that materials are obtained from sustainable sources and that the factory fully embraces and utilises the latest technology,” he concludes.
