Addmore offers region cost-effective services

01 January 2024

In the dynamic world of architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC), few companies have achieved the remarkable success that Addmore Services has seen, given the fact it was set up during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Founded by industry stalwart Colin Addley, the company, within a short time span, has established itself as a global leader, wielding the collective expertise of its founder and team, each with years of experience in the Arabian Gulf.  Addmore Services says it is now active in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Underpinning Addmore Services’ success is Addley’s illustrious career spanning over four decades in the high-end luxury project sector. His exceptional leadership, coupled with an astute understanding of diverse markets, has been instrumental in shaping Addmore Services’ growth strategy.

While many established companies struggled under the weight of pandemic-induced uncertainty, Addmore Services’ bold decision to open its doors during this tumultuous period serves as a testament to the spirit of its founder and the company’s belief in its potential.

Today, the global provider of professional technical services is offering the Gulf region a range of specialities, namely architectural production drawings, shop-drawings and cutting lists; BIM, 3D modelling and rendering; and material quantity take-off, cost estimating, risk management and change order management.

“Addmore can be specifically valuable to start-up businesses who do not have the resources in-house and for medium-sized companies who are growing at pace and need to upscale their team for a period of time,” Addley, the Founder and President of Addmore Services, tells Gulf Construction.

“Addmore can normally start on a new project within 10 days. Our clients can avoid all the recruitment costs of hiring employees, flight tickets, accommodation, gratuity, etc and also do not have any office space and equipment for new personnel,” he adds.

While Addmore Services was formed to offer its expertise globally, it is well-placed to serve the Gulf market given Addley’s 20 years of experience in the region from 1994-2014, working as Project Director of the Deira City Centre, and on interior fit-out works on palaces, superyachts, hotels and high-end custom residential properties. The interior fit-out of Burj Al Arab, the 202 all-suite seven-star hotel, was a job of particular pride for Addley.

During Addley’s expansive career worldwide, he has contributed to an international repertoire of projects in countries such as the UK, Ireland, Germany, South Africa, Australia, the US, Hong Kong, Macau and the Philippines. Over this time, the multifaceted professional (chartered builder, construction manager, and quantity surveyor) established deep-rooted relationships with industry professionals, which have been invaluable in establishing Addmore Services as a global player, while his multi-layered expertise forms the foundation of the company’s holistic approach to the AEC industry.

In addition, the majority of Addmore Services’ team is familiar with the culture and demands of the Gulf market, having previously worked in Dubai or within the region, says the company.

With offices located in the US and the Philippines, Addmore Services is strategically placed to respond promptly to queries from the Gulf.

“Normally, we will respond to any query within 24 hours and our email is monitored 24 hours between the US office and the Philippines, taking advantage of the time zone difference,” Addley points out.

Addmore Services offers all its services remotely through an online system but intends to open an office either in Dubai or Riyadh, when required.

The inception of Addmore Services during the pandemic might have seemed like a daring endeavour, but it proved to be successful. The working-from-home requirements were meticulously integrated into Addmore’s DNA, and the company thrived amidst the challenges.

The company currently serves architects, interior designers, property developers, building contractors and specialist contractors.

“Addmore’s global expertise has been instrumental in streamlining processes and enhancing efficiency, leading to a significant reduction in manhours. Its robust remote work framework effectively minimises miscommunication and fosters a seamless remote work experience,” Addley states.

The challenges it faced in establishing a foothold in the market during the pandemic have rendered it resilient, adaptable and innovative.

“Addmore has stayed abreast of all market trends and, as a company founded during the pandemic, has established a structure that seamlessly operates and integrates with our client base,” he adds.

To create greater awareness of its services in the region, Addmore has a strong social media marketing strategy; it is developing a network of subscribers to its weekly newsletter on LinkedIn and is conducting weekly podcasts on LinkedIn, Spotify and Amazon. It is also releasing a series of podcasts style interview on Youtube.
