Flooring the market

01 November 2015

Polygroup, which manufactures raised access floor systems, will put the spotlight on two new products within its Gamaflor range when it returns to The Big 5 show this month.

A regular participant at the show, the Spanish company produces heavy-duty systems with chipboard core and steel cement core. These systems are supported by a steel understructure with an adjustable height range between 90 and 1,500 mm.

These flooring systems, developed by the Polygroup, are suitable for use in offices, call centres, corporate buildings, data centres, technical rooms, hospitals, libraries and hotels.

The company has maintained a presence in the Middle East, which represents a key business market, for the last eight years.

“The Big 5 in Dubai is a great opportunity to promote and present our brand in the area and in the world, because we keep in mind that this is an international event,” says Jose Luis Sancho, marketing manager for Polygroup.

He says Polygroup has taken part in The Big 5 in Dubai a number of times and has also participated at the event in Saudi Arabia.

“The Big 5 shows are one of the biggest events and fairs for the construction market in the world. They are great and massive for our business. They attract the best companies from both the local market and the international market,” says Sancho.

“Also, the Middle East is a very important market for our company – and a growing one for our products. The market is mature – the companies and customers here know what they want. This is, probably, the best place to do business in the world.

“For Polygroup, this is an important meeting place; not only for the potential sales at the fair, but also to renew and to develop new contacts,” says Sancho.

Polygroup works closely with its customers, offering a customised service and tailor-made products, he adds.

At The Big 5, Sancho says the company will be promoting its floor systems, particularly its Gamaflor full steel granite, which is manufactured with steel cement panels; and Gamaflor PAC 35/05 Granite, manufactured with woodcore and steel panels. Both come with natural Spanish granite tiles of 12 mm thickness. Each system can be finished with different covers applied directly from the factory, such as antistatic high-pressure laminates (HPL), antistatic vinyl, ESD vinyl, linoleum, granite, porcelain, natural wood, stainless steel and carpet.

Other Polygroup products include Gamaflor Bank, Gamaflor Conductor, Gamaflor Gram-Mar and Rejilla Ventilacion G17 G42.

All Polygroup products have European UNE EN 12825 certificates.

Polygroup systems have been installed at many important projects around the world including the Middle East, where it works in collaboration with local dealers developing local markets in Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

Some notable projects in the Middle East include the supply of 900 sq m of products for a Nato military base in Kabul, Afghanistan; a new Spanish embassy in Amman, Jordan (1,500 sq m); a monetary centre building in Jeddah (3,000 sq m) and railway stations in Jeddah (2,000 sq m) and Riyadh (1,200 sq m), Saudi Arabia; complex for Sirte Oil Company in Brega, Libya (4,000 sq m); an office building in Lusail, Qatar (1,000 sq m); and oil plant control building in Kuwait (1,800 sq m).

Founded in 1975, Polygroup’s head office and main facilities are located in Seville, south of Spain, with products distributed around the world. Polygroup has a team of around 50 people and registers an annual business volume of $14 million.

Sancho says the company continues to grow and develop new markets every year. Its hard work over the past few years in developing its flooring systems and finding new market opportunities has started to pay off, says Sancho, who sees 2015 as a good business year for the company.

To cater to the rising demand, Polygroup has opened new offices in Hong Kong and Panama City.

Furthermore, Polygroup has acquired a local company and will be opening a new line of business which involves designing and building wooden spaces and wood interior design. This new line of business will be shortly launched on the market.

Polygroup will be located at Zabeel X180 at The Big 5.
