Liquid Plastics Limited (LPL), a UK-based structural coatings and flooring systems manufacturer, has introduced an interactive CD Rom in order to assist architects and specifiers in the specification process.
The CD-Rom allows users to immediately access literature and technical information about the company's range of products.
"It features extensive information about Liquid Plastics' complete product range, which includes liquid roofing systems with 25-year lifespans, architectural weatherproof coatings for walls, antimicrobial coatings for hygienic areas and both decorative and industrial, resin-based flooring systems," says company spokeswoman Lisa Holmes.
She continues: "One of the most useful features is a series of NBS (National Building Specification) clauses referring to LPL products. These prewritten, product specific clauses can be incorporated into individual specifications. Also included are case studies, lists of key specifiers, BBA (British Board of Agrement) certificates, system guides and information about Liquid Plastics' three RIBA CPD-approved seminars on roofing, flooring and hygiene control.
"The CD Rom has a direct email link for architects and specifiers to request CPD seminars, a hyperlink to Liquid Plastics' website located at www.liquidplastics.co.uk, plus a contact form whereby users can request assistance with a current architectural or interior design project."
The coating and floorings specialist offers an extensive range of products among which is Decothane Delta. This roofing system has been certified by the BBA that it will offer effective weatherproof protection for at least 25 years before its first maintenance is required, says the company.
"Proven in applications ranging from the Arctic Circle to the Arabian Gulf, the Decothane Delta system is based on a unique moisture-triggered polyurethane coating which may be applied at temperatures as low as 2 deg C and which will cure normally even if submerged under ponded water," Holmes says. "This characteristic distinguishes it from conventional polyurethanes which tend to 'foam' in the presence of excess moisture, resulting in pinholes and a corresponding loss of strength and long term performance.
"The Decothane Delta membrane will tolerate foot traffic, attack by aggressive atmospheric chemicals and is available in a range of colours including solar-reflective white. Suitable for both new-build and refurbishment projects, it is highly elastomeric, UV (ultra-violet) stable and may be applied over all common substrates. It is compatible with various roof insulation systems and - when tested to BS.476 Part 3 for the spread of flame and fire penetration - achieves a Class AA rating.
"The Decothane Delta system is quick and easy to install, even over complex roof detail."
