The new, compact Mobilair 12E compressor from Germany-based Kaeser Kompressoren offers the power of portable compressors along with the flexibility of the transportable workshop machine.
"On construction sites, portable compressors are often too large and transportable reciprocating compressors too small for the job in hand," said a Kaeser spokesman.
"Kaeser has solved this problem with the new, extremely compact Mobilair 12E with electric drive linking the high performance and capacity of a screw compressor to the flexibility and handiness of a transportable workshop compressor."
The spokesman continues: "heart of the package consists of an extremely durable screw airend fitted with economical, proprietary Sigma profiled rotors which are used in all of its portable compressors.
''The Sigma profile guarantees high performance, extreme reliability and economic power consumption.
"The compressor can be set to outlet pressures within the range 5.5 to 14 bar. The capacity of 1.2 cu m/min at 7 bar makes the Mobilair 12E suitable for a wide range of work in assembly, installation or on the construction site.
"Modulating control matches the performance of the compressor rapidly and precisely to the actual air demand. This reduces the power consumption of this very economical screw compressor even further.
As with Kaeser's big stationary compressors, Mobilair 12E is fitted with Kaeser Control, the automatic safety system that monitors all important functions and, should a malfunction occur, shuts down the compressor at once.
''As well as its compact size, one of the real advantages of the Mobilair 12E is its very low weight of about 160 kg, the spokesman says. ''The compressor can be transported easily by any delivery van or on the back of a small truck - the trailer coupling is free for other jobs."
