Well-crafted lines are natural charmers

RAK Ceramics' tiles and sanitary ware are natural beauties, says a company spokesman.

"We have mastered the art of crafting products with natural themes," he says. "We have always been fascinated by the beauty of nature as is evidenced by a wide range of stone, wood and other natural finishes."

Highlighting the company's collection of tiles, he continues: "One of our new lines is called Coral Stone which draws on marine themes and recaptures the intricate structure of coral reefs. This tile is available in two colours, white and beige. Produced in the 40.5 by 40.5 cm format, it has an unpolished rustic surface with tri-dimensional edges for a spectacular antique look.

"The Silex Stone series bases its design on sandstone from the Carboniferous age. It comprises eight tiles in as many colours, measuring 31 by 31 cm. To protect its print, the tile's unpolished surface is covered with glass molecules.

"RAK Solnhofen is a replica of natural stone found in Germany. Produced with the latest Rotocolor printing technology to create random patterns, this unpolished glazed tile is available in white and yellow in 40.5 by 4 0.5 cm size.

"The Wood (Parquet) series offers an alternative to wood, with its natural ambience. Available in eight designs with natural, teak and rosewood colours, the tile has an unpolished matt finish. This line is also available with borders and corners to enhance its beauty.

"To recreate the effect of water drops, RAK Ceramics has come up with a new concept called the Aqua Garden collection. Comprising four designs, this collection of glazed tiles comes in a combination of colours such as white, grey, bluish green, yellow and pink. Measuring 30.5 by 30.5 cm, it can be produced with borders and corners for extra effect.

"The Calacatta series is themed on Calacatta natural marble. Its streaked design, rustic polished surface and fine blends of white, beige and grey make it an effective alternative to natural marble. Available in 40 by 40 cm and 30 by 60 cm sizes, this series comes with borders and corners as well to make it more charming.

"The Bottocino line is an upmarket tile that offers the veined finish of natural granite and marble. Available in 30 by 60, 40 by 40 and 60 by 60 cm sizes, this tile is produced with the latest double-filling mixed with soluble salt printing technology.

"Belgian Stone captures the essence of real stone. Its innovative and finely-crafted design along with its natural-veined look gives it great appeal in any environment. Produced in black, beige and grey with two different surfaces - rustic and plain - this tile is available in the 45 by 45 cm format. It can be enhanced with borders and corners.

"Al Hambra - which in Arabic means the red or crimson - is named after the famous 13th century palace on the hilly terraces of Granada, Spain, and draws its inspiration from it. The intricate designs on these tiles are drawn from the Moorish paintings on the walls of the palace. Its wavy edges coupled with its glazed surface enhance its antique beauty. Created to unveil the grandeur of the past, the Al Hambra collection is a perfect blend of timeless beauty and elegance. This tile is available in three colours: Ivory, Okra and Anthracite and can be enhanced with borders and decors.

"Elegant Stone, which as its name suggests, offers elegance coupled with a natural stone finish. It comes in four colours - white, yellow, Nut and light green. The tiles can be polished or unpolished and are available in sizes of 30 by 30, 40 by 40, 45 by 45 and 30 by 60 cm. To enhance its appeal, the tile can be supplemented with borders and corners.

"All these tiles offer colour-fastness, resistance to stains, chemicals and abrasion and low water absorption and are suited for both exterior and interior applications."
