US firm launches creative options
Weather Shield Windows & Doors has introduced new aesthetic solutions which are said to be virtually maintenance-free and durable.

Weather Shield Windows & Doors, one of the leading window and door manufacturers in the US, has introduced four creative solutions for new home construction.
The company which is promoting its products in the region, says its wood and vinyl windows and doors that withstand harsh weather and come in a variety of sizes and design styles, have been developed to provide customers with greater flexibility and superior quality.
Weather Shield Legacy Series, Weather Shield, ProShield and Visions 2000 windows and doors are available in a variety of sizes and shapes, with custom colours, interior wood selections, and a choice of exterior claddings, glazing options and grille options.
"New home builders can count on Weather Shield windows and doors to withstand the rigours of weather and wear," says Dave Koester, brand manager at Weather Shield. "The doors and windows can be ordered in a variety of colours and styles and include the latest hardware options."
Outlining the special characteristics of the company's Legacy Series, he says: "Weather Shield Legacy Series windows and doors are the company's finest product line for custom and luxury homes. Available in tilt double-hung and casement styles, the premium windows feature elegant wood interiors in a variety of wood species from Weather Shield's Custom Wood Interiors Collection.
''The exterior is made using extruded aluminium frame and sash members that are available in a variety of colours and are nearly maintenance-free. A rigid, aluminium integral nailing fin makes the unit easy to install.
''The frame and sash are constructed using silicone-injected corner-keys that are staked and locked into place. The precision-mitered corners on the tilt and casement windows are air- and water-tight.
''The tilt windows feature fingertip latch releases that make cleaning them quick and easy. Increased jamb thickness on the casement windows eliminates exposed fasteners, making the windows more aesthetically pleasing.''
Turning to the Weather Shield windows and doors series, he says: ''The flagship line for upscale homes, Weather Shield is the company's most comprehensive line of windows and doors. The ProShield windows and doors feature durable vinyl exteriors and pine or oak interiors. ProShield windows and doors are sold at a medium price point and are a great option for high humidity, high moisture areas such as waterfront home sites, he says.
Koester continues: "The windows have maintenance-free exteriors that resist rust, corrosion, flaking and peeling and are made with warm wood interiors. Windows and doors feature energy-efficient glazing options, along with simulated divided lite, airspace and perimeter grille options.
