Dubai is to host a new exhibition aimed at the international commercial architecture, property design and development sectors.
Cityscape 2002 will make its debut alongside the fourth International Property Investment and Management Conference (IPIC) at the Emirates Towers Hotel from December 14 to 17.
The event is organised by IIR Exhibitions and Conferences and officially supported by the Dubai Development and Investment Authority.
"The Dubai Development and Investment Authority is committed to promoting the economic development of Dubai and to pursuing a policy of economic diversification that will seek to achieve growth in a number of key sectors, including the residential and commercial property sector," said authority director general Saeed Al Muntafiq. "Cityscape will highlight the tremendous inroads that have been made in building the infrastructure required to support this growth and the groundbreaking and pioneering projects this growth has entailed and continues to necessitate.''
The exhibition's key supporters are looking to source architects; design specialists; consulting engineers; project managers; lighting and landscape architects; integrated building system providers; security consultants; energy management firms; major contractors; financiers; facade technology and exterior cladding experts; IT system suppliers and external works companies.
Christopher Hudson, project manager with IIR Exhibitions, said: "Cityscape 2002 will be a platform for exhibitors to influence and network with major developers, key organisations and governmental authorities who are involved in the design and construction of major public and private property developments.
"There is no other event that combines a conference and exhibition, in the same venue, focusing on the design and facilitation of buildings in the concept stage.
"It will act as a forum for the discussion of best practice and new and innovative construction techniques, as well as a vehicle to educate and develop individuals within the industry.
The conference will be attended by international speakers and Middle East experts, said Shabnam Rawal, conference director at IIR Conferences. The topics up for discussion include new trends in regional and global property investment; on-line real estate trading; public-private partnerships; risk management in property deals; Islamic financing; external investors providing turnkey funding/design/build operate packages for building and infrastructure development; revolutionising urban development; international investment issues and transitional and emerging markets.
