Gomaco launches line of mixing plants

01 April 2000

Gomaco International has launched a full line of concrete mixing plants designed and manufactured in Europe which it plans to market in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Russia and the CIS countries.

The plant will be supplied and serviced from its European headquarters in Slough, UK, and where applicable, through its dealer network, a company spokesman says.

''The company has been highly successful in supplying machines for slip-forming and finishing concrete, together with allied equipment that has been used on numerous road building and airport projects worldwide,'' he says. ''With its knowledge and expertise of the concrete industry, Gomaco is confident that the addition of concrete mixing plants to its product line will give it the opportunity to offer a package deal for paving operations, as well as place it into new markets where quality concrete is required for a wider range of construction work.''

He continues: ''The plant range has output capacities ranging from 20 to 300 cu m per hour, which is designed to cover the entire spectrum of contractors' requirements. However, for major dam construction, as well as any other projects which may require aggregate sizes of up to 200 mm, Gomaco can also supply static and portable plants with capacities up to 600 cu m per hour.

''The portable plants range from 20 to 160 cu m per hour and are based upon a containerised unit design. This ensures ease of transport and mobility, with erection time of approximately eight hours from arrival on site to producing concrete and a dismantling time of approximately six hours. This range of plant is more suited to projects such as highway, road and bridge construction in addition to dam and canal jobs where operational flexibility is essential with quick erection and dismantling time.

''The portable designs do not require solid foundations as the whole unit is designed to sit upon steel plates placed on a compact surface. Also included is a cement silo system that has a unique frame designed to allow concrete weights to be placed at the base of the silo. This eliminates the need for any permanent ground fixtures.

''For contracts where a high degree of mobility is essential, the mobile plants incorporate a heavy-duty combined transport chassis, that complies with EU trailer regulations. The plant capacities range from 20 to 120 cu m per hour.

''All plants are available with multitasking real-time computer systems, as well as an optional PLC (programmable logic controller) system in lieu of the standard PC.

''The plant comes with a choice of six mixers: extra heavy duty, premium twin shaft designs, vertical shaft pan mixers, orbital pan mixers, split drum mixers plus heavy-duty tilt drum and continuous designs of mixers.

''A full range of cylindrical cement silos of varying capacities are available including low level designs, as well as square panel construction, all of which are offered in steel or polyester materials.

''For special applications, the plants can be built to accommodate any kind of climatic conditions. They can be supplied with water chillers, ice plants, water tank heaters, trace heaters for pipework, and steam plants. A wide range of aggregate hopper designs are also available to accommodate any combination that may be required.

''All plants comply with the CE mark requirements and special attention is given to all aspects of environmental and operational details. Top priority is given to the availability of qualified engineers for installation and commissioning of the plants, with particular emphasis being placed upon operator training. Gomaco is also offering a redesign and modification service which will enable an operator to upgrade its existing plants.''
