Duravit a leader in sanitary ware

The new Starck 3 bathroom range which made its debut in Europe last year is expected to gain a sizeable share of the Middle East market, according to Duravit, which has been operating in the region for the past 13 years.

"We are very excited to launch the new Starck 3 line in the region," said Mosbah Ayad, general manager, Duravit Middle East. "We see this as a path to continue our success in the Middle East with its high-end construction buildings such as Emirates Towers hotel and offices in Dubai (UAE), and the Phoenicia Intercontinental Hotel in Beirut (Lebanon)."

A company steeped in tradition, Hornberg-based Duravit says it has had a decisive influence on the development of the sanitary ware industry.

Much has changed since the company's foundation in 1817. The initial production of earthenware crockery gave way to the manufacture of sanitary ceramics. In the meantime, Duravit has become a pioneer in bathroom design and innovation.

Thanks to partnerships with renowned designers such as Phillippe Starck, Sieger Design, Michael Graves or Norman Foster, as well as Phoenix Product Design, Massimo Iosa Ghini and Frank Huster, the company has continued to increase its standing in the international design arena, helped by the extension of the range in 1977 to include bathroom furniture.

All of Duravit's products are manufactured to the highest quality standards at sites in Germany, France, Egypt and Turkey.

The growth of the company over the past few years has, says the firm, confirmed that the policy of value for design is spot on. The foundation of several marketing companies and organisations abroad and the continuous rise in the number of employees all over the world represent a very positive business development for Duravit.

Duravit took a bold new direction last year with the debut of a new business sector, Baths & Wellness. With the launch of Starck 3 Duravit is now offering for the first time baths and shower trays.

"The signal for an even greater wellness segment and a further foothold on the market to complement the sanitary ceramics, bathroom furniture and accessories range," says Franz Kook, chairman of the management board of Duravit.
