BIEC work set for completion

Work on a BD1.13 million ($3 million) expansion at Bahrain International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) in Sanabis is to be completed by the year-end. The project conveniently links the existing exhibition halls one and two.
The main contractor is Projects S A (Construction), which started work in October last year. The new centre will have three halls, with the main 1,400 sq m conference hall having a capacity to accommodate more than 500 people.
The other two halls will be used to host small conferences and meetings. The new centre will also house a reception hall and associated offices, a service block, first floor offices and associated services and a roof level service room.
With this latest addition, the BIEC can host mega functions with more than 2,000 conference delegates. The new convention centre will increase the area of the existing facilities by nearly 3,000 sq m.
