Al Abbar Aluminium uses AL-Clad aluminium composite materials (ACM) made by Mitsubishi Chemical Functional Products (MCFP) of Japan as the facade finishing material for its cladding system.
The product was chosen by Al Abbar after carefully evaluating aluminium cladding products on the market for their reliability, says a spokesman for MCFP.
MCFP, on the other hand, which was seeking a reputable curtain wall manufacturer in the region, found a suitable partner in Al Abbar. Thus, a long-term relationship was established between Al Abbar and MCFP.
Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation, considered to be the largest and leading integrated chemical company in Japan, was incorporated in 1950. Mitsubishi Chemical and its group companies are engaged in diverse operations including core activities in petrochemicals, carbon products and agrochemicals, information and electronics-related products, pharmaceuticals, speciality chemicals, functional materials and plastic-based products.
MCFP was founded as a 100 per cent subsidiary of Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation to cater to the construction sector. The company developed Alpolic and AL-Clad in 1972 and today this aluminium composite material is used as cladding in both exterior and interior applications all over the world. The product has earned wide acclaim for its excellent paint finishes, superior flatness and outstanding fire performance, among other features.
MCFP has been regularly supplying Al Abbar Aluminium with AL-Clad materials for its prestigious and landmark projects, such as Burj Al Arab, Dubai International Airport and a number of prominent buildings.
MCFP has also recently developed new composite materials with other metals such as titanium composite materials (TCM) and stainless steel composite materials (SCM) which give a wider choice for architects and a new look to the building envelope.
''Excellence in fabrication and workmanship can transform a plain sheet and this is what all material suppliers seek,'' says the MCFP spokesman.
''The need of the hour is for the established material suppliers to work together with first-class fabricators to maintain a reputable name in the market.
''The relationship between MCFP and Al Abbar is one such example. Together they will continue to create the highest quality building facades,'' the spokesman concludes.
