Tremco has developed a major presence as a supplier of high performance sealants, gaskets and tapes in the Gulf markets, thanks to the continued trend in the region towards sophisticated curtain walls and high-performance glazing systems. A range of these products has been utilised on three of the largest projects in the UAE - namely Emirates Towers, Dubai Airport expansion and Burj Al Arab Tower.
''One of the major benefits enjoyed by Tremco's customers is that we offer a highly comprehensive range of sealants, glazing tapes and gaskets, making us unique in the industry as a single source for all the components required to carry out glazing works to any specification,'' advises Keith Shearman, regional director for Tremco. ''While most glazing work requires the use of high performance silicone sealants, Tremco is also able to offer a vast range of other sealants, including polyurethane, butyls and thermoplastics. This means that the curtain wall contractor can rely on one source for his ancillary sealant requirements as well as ensuring the all-important chemical compatibility of the various sealants used in any particular project.''
ÿTremco's range of gaskets available is equally comprehensive and includes EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer), silicone compatible rubber and neoprene compounds, some of which can also be supplied in various colours. This, along with the full range of butyl and polymer glazing tapes for all kinds of specific glazing conditions, means that Tremco is capable of supplying sealants gaskets and tapes for any type of application in glazing and curtain wall projects.
ÿTremco's worldwide success in North and South America, Europe and the Far East has been enhanced by similar levels of success in the Middle East for more than 25 years. The company now enjoys a project portfolio in the Gulf unsurpassed by other suppliers. Shearman comments, ''Another significant benefit to customers and consultants in the industry is Tremco's technical and practical support, which is available locally via engineers resident in the region. This provides immediate access to the resources and experience accrued by the company over its 75 years in the sealant and waterproofing industries.
The unique level of service and support remains unmatched by competitors and is a large part of Tremco's strong relationships with its customers in the region.'' This level of local service was enhanced in 1997 when Tremco entered into agency arrangements with sister company Stoncor Middle East in Dubai, providing stocking facilities for the entire range of Tremco sealants and tapes. This provides customers with access to the Tremco range of products for immediate dispatch within the Gulf region.
Tremco has a long association with the Al Abbar Group, supplying a comprehensive range of glazing products for over 10 years. However, the relationship is more than just that of a supplier and customer, as both companies share the same commitment to quality and the completion of projects in the Gulf. ''Tremco wishes the Al Abbar Group continued success,'' says Shearman.
