Bath fittings show in March
Milan: Fiera Milano International will present the Salone dell' Arredobagno (The Bathroom Fittings Show) during the 34th edition of the Mostra Convegno Expocomfort, at the Fiera Milano from March 2 to 6, 2004.

The organisers claim that the first edition of the show to be held next year, will uphold the change in perception of the bathroom over the last couple of years. The show will be directed towards the professionals in the field that include architects, designers, interior decorators, showroom managers, installers and technicians.

The show will also be an exclusive forum for cutting-edge projects and proposals. A group of experts from a variety of disciplines will evaluate the changing concept of the bathroom and provide valuable inputs for research and studies, which will be used to judge preferences in colour, social behaviour, and technology.

Index 2003 records increase
Dubai: The 13th Middle East International Furniture and Interior Design Exhibition (Index 2003), on this month at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre (DIEC) and the Dubai International Convention Centre (DICC), is set to record a 20 per cent increase in the number of exhibitors over the previous edition, with some 1,200 exhibition stands (1,500 companies) from 52 countries.

Says Bernard Walsh, managing director of dmg world media Dubai, organisers of Index 2003: 'This year's event - spread over the eight halls of DIEC and the auditorium and gallery of DICC - will cover bigger floor space of 27,500 sq m against the last year's 22,000 sq m.'

The exhibition will feature 26 national pavilions, with Italy and Turkey being the largest, and is expected to attract 30,000 visitors. Walsh said demand for furnishing and interiors products were growing in the AGCC due to increased construction spend and high birth rates. There are around 150 major new four and five star hotel developments planned across the region in addition to shopping malls, residential complexes and business-related construction.
