Building on experience

01 March 2004

For more than 40 years, the Jeddah-headquartered Al Muhaidib Building Materials Company (MBM) has been in the service of the construction and building industry in Saudi Arabia and the other GCC countries.

Building on its wide experience and understanding the consumer trends in the local and the regional markets, MBM has been highly successful in meeting the local requirements of building materials while ensuring their availability, says a spokesman for the company.
“In line with its commitment to meet customer needs, MBM – which deals with steel products including a wide range of reinforcement rebar and commercial steel – secures high grades of these products in various kinds and sizes. It imports all kinds of commercial steel such as HR (hot rolled) sheets and coils, CR (cold rolled) sheets and coils, CR galvanised sheets, HR flat bars, hollow sections, galvanised steel pipes, decorative steel pipes, angles and beams.
Besides, the company also enjoys a remarkable share of the timber and insulation markets, says the spokesman.
Timber products represent an essential part of MBM’s activities and all timber products are imported from Europe, America, Africa and South East Asia. Currently, MBM deals in white wood (Romanian, Swedish, Austrian, Canadian, Russian, and Chilean), red wood (Swedish and Finnish), plywood (ordinary and shuttering), blockboard (veneered and ordinary), medium density fibreboard – MDF (veneered and ordinary), hardwood (oak, cherry, mahogany and red meranti).
MBM, which is a division of A K Al Muhaidib and Sons Group, also provides insulation materials – rockwool, polystyrene and others – as well as waterproofing products.
