Trimble, a world leader in Global Positioning Systems (GPS), construction lasers, robotic total stations and machine control solutions, is developing a broad range of innovative solutions that will change the way construction work is done.
The company has introduced three high-precision laser products, which it claims will add ease to levelling works and steep-slope grading.
The new self-levelling Spectra Precision Laser LL300 laser level is a rugged laser that is designed to handle a wide range of general and concrete construction applications.
“In rain, snow or extreme heat, the LL300 delivers consistently reliable and accurate performance, enabling users to dramatically increase productivity, says Pat Bohle, division vice president for Trimble’s Construction Instruments business.
The LL300 is a contractor-grade laser rugged enough for any construction use, even in the harshest job site conditions. With its tough composite material housing, it is capable of surviving a drop of up to one metre to a hard surface, giving it an unmatched durability, he claims.
“The LL300 is ideal for a variety of applications, including elevation control across the jobsite, excavations, basic slopes, levelling forms and footers, concrete pours, and one-meter marks.”
“Since the LL300 levels itself when turned on, set-up is simple with fewer controls,” he says.
“We understand that construction and concrete contractors are looking for products that are durable and reliable, day in and day out, the LL300 is the perfect choice for meeting those needs.”
Users of the LL300 can customise the laser to their specific needs by choosing between the Spectra Precision Laser HR300 receiver and the Spectra Precision Laser CR600 receiver. The HR300 can be used either as a hand-held or rod-mounted unit and is suitable for basic elevation control applications. The CR600 is ideal for longer range levelling and basic machine control applications, and cane be used as a handheld, rod-mounted or machine-mounted unit.
GL Series
Elaborating on the newly introduced grade laser systems a spokesman says: “The two new grade laser transmitter products—the GL742 and GL762, introduced by Trimble, extends the capabilities of the Spectra Precision Laser GL700 series.
“The Spectra Precision Laser GL742 is positioned as Trimble’s premier grade laser transmitter for multi-purpose machine control and general construction applications. Offering two-way remote, plus a Y axis grade range of 0 to 110 per cent, the GL742 is designed to provide the advantage of highly accurate steep-slope grading, such as sea or retaining walls, dam embankments, environmental or waste dump sites, parking garages and other extreme slope settings.
“The Spectra Precision Laser GL762 has also been introduced to add a high accuracy model to the GL700 Series. The GL762 is engineered for sites that need high accuracy and precision over longer distance ranges. Typical applications include airport paving, longer-range roads and large concrete construction sites. The product also is expected to be of interest to specialty contractors working on golf courses, racetracks, playing fields, parking lots, gas stations, landscaping, animal husbandry and large public works projects.”
The GL742 and GL762 share a few advanced features:
