IR aims to meet industry requirements

01 July 2004

Ingersoll-Rand (IR), a leading manufacturer of power generation systems, recently launched a variety of power products, which the company claims have been tailored to meet the specific requirements of the industry.

The company has expanded its current range of diesel-driven generators – running from nine to 500 kVA prime power – to include much larger models, all powered by MTU diesel engines, that will be available in either ISO or CIR containers.
“These models feature state-of-the-art diagnostics and controls provided by the IR Intellisys control system,” says a company spokesman.
“Easy to operate and simple to maintain, IR’s generators are modular in design, allowing them to be tailored to meet specific application requirements. In the equipment rental industry in particular, this helps to achieve the desired balance within the generator fleet to optimise the machine utilisation rate,” he adds.
IR offers a comprehensive line of high-performance stationary diesel generators from 20-2,000 kW designed specifically for industrial and commercial applications. In addition to this, the company also offers a comprehensive line of high-performance natural gas generators from 25-130 kW designed specifically for industrial and commercial applications, he adds.
To meet the demands of a growing market, IR formed Ingersoll-Rand Energy Systems in mid-2000, based in New Hampshire. In August 2003, IR’s standby generators group joined the Energy Systems division, giving the company the opportunity to offer a comprehensive energy solution to its customers. Such a solution can include any combination of microturbines, standby generators and fuel conditioners, ensuring the customer will always have efficient, economical and reliable power available, he adds.
