Stone Gallery set to floor the market

01 June 2005

Dubai-based Stone Gallery, which is rated among the top hard-landscaping specialists in the UAE, has boosted its extensive variety in flooring solutions with a new range of wall tiles to embellish both inner and exterior walls.

“Marble, granite, slate and other natural stones make unusual but eye-catching wall tiles wherever they are installed,” says a spokesman for the company. “A bathroom with antique marble wall tiles, an indoor poolroom with white and grey marble walls or a rough multi-coloured slate wall in a section of the living room or by the stairs, can all look dramatic with the use of wall tiles which transform the ambience of the home.”
“Our new wall tiles made of rough natural slate are affordable and classy and can be used for a single wall in a modern living room or bedroom or as wall cladding for fountains to create an impressive feature,” he adds.
“Available in different colours, sizes and designs, Stone Gallery’s new products are natural and unique,” he says. “They look great wherever they are used – be it in the patio, the staircase background, garden walls, balconies, verandahs, or a section of the exterior of the house that overlooks the garden and becomes part of the landscape.
“Combined with natural stone flooring, furniture, water features, artifacts or sculptures, these walls make a bold statement about the home and its inhabitants.”
Stone Gallery was set up in 2001 as an associate of Captain Marble – a leading UAE-based distributor, importer and exporter of stone products – as a value-added service to its customers. The firm deals in marble, granite and other stones for pavements, walkways, driveways, patios, pool decking and coping, gazebos as well as garden furniture, ornaments and water features.
While the massive demand for landscaping and gardening in recent years has seen an increasing number of landscaping firms in the country, Stone Gallery is the only company that offers specialised solutions in hard landscaping and walls tiles, says the spokesman.

Floor tiles have always been a passion with Stone Gallery, which – true to its name – exhibits them in various complexities and combinations at its premises. “The space within our premises is just like a gallery, offering hard landscaping and different tile options that dress the entire floor space of our outlet, taking designers, homeowners, architects and contractors on a reality tour through the products and solutions the company has to offer,” the spokesman points out.
“The Stone Galley outlet is designed to give customers a hands-on feel of different stone finishes, the colour variations and the sizes. Often a sample tile does not afford a full picture of what a floor would look like once it is fixed. The gallery allows clients to actually see the effect of different floor types,” he adds. “Polished slate and mosaics, for example, used as borders or inlays enhances the floor design compared to regular patterns.
“Travertine with honed and antique finish – both for the floor and wall – offers a less expensive alternative to marble. Hence, Travertine in a tumbled, honed and chisel finish that gives an antique look is fast gaining popularity.”
In addition, there is slate and sandstone – both in tiles and crazy pattern, mosaics in different designs, colourful cobblestones, shades of terracotta, quartzite, travertine, lime stones, internal and external water features, pebbles of different colours, textures and sizes, artifacts, garden ornaments such as sundials, stepping stones, sandstone tables and benches, birth baths, pots, pillars, and decorative screens.
Stone Gallery also offers granites for counter tops; kitchen tops, steps and risers in a wide variety.
In line with its motto to make pioneering efforts in introducing new flooring options, Stone Gallery is now looking at launching an innovation for driveway flooring. The product comp-rises reasonably-priced granite sets, which are flamed hand cut, giving them a natural look.
The company’s latest addition to its long list of exciting floor tiles is decorative concrete tiles. These new tiles are sleek, and can be used in many ways to enhance the surroundings – both as external flooring as well as an excellent internal flooring solution. These tiles also meet the present trend for antique finishes.
“Combined with antique furniture, decorative screens, artifacts, terracotta pots and pedestals and the sculpture, these concrete tiles look superb,” says the spokesman. “The floor provides the perfect backdrop for antique-looking items within and outside the house.
“The tiles can be used for a variety of applications including driveways, garden pathways, swimming pool surrounds, gazebo flooring, verandahs and balconies. Offered in a variety of designs and being competitively priced, these tiles have now brought beautiful exteriors as well as ornate internal spaces within easy reach of customers.”
Stone Gallery also boasts the largest collection of pebbles in both natural and polished categories. These are available in sizes ranging from 10 mm to 80 mm in different colours, expanding the design options for creating a rock garden or paving.
Besides its value-added services in the stone supply sector, Stone Gallery also has a stone care centre.
“Although, stone is long lasting, preserving the original colour and finish requires careful maintenance. Stone Gallery is the only showroom in the UAE, which has a dedicated Stone Care Centre, which offers sealers, enhancers and polishes to protect the floor,” he concludes.
