01 June 2005

ACECAD Software, the developer of StruCad  the 3D modelling software for structural steel detailing and StruMIS – a management information software system for steel fabricators – has recently established an office in Dubai and appointed Riedwaan Abrahams as regional manager.

Located in the Dubai Airport Free Zone, close to the Dubai International Airport, AceCAD Software ME’s office is ideally situated for supporting and promoting AceCAD’s comprehensive suite of software throughout the Middle East and surrounding areas.
The company, which has for a number of years had operations in the Middle East through its partner network, decided to step of establish its own office in response to demand and to ensure a consistently high quality of delivery and support for its products and services, says a spokesman.
Staffed by experienced engineers, the new office will spearhead a sales and marketing drive throughout the region and provide the AceCAD client base with enhanced support and technical back-up for their software requirements. Riedwaan brings with him many years experience as an engineer and StruCad user, the spokesman adds.
AceCAD, which has operations throughout Europe, North America, Asia, Australia and South Africa and a worldwide network of distributors and representatives serving more than 70 countries, has also opened offices in France and Spain.
“The establishment of an office in Dubai is a further step in AceCAD’s global growth strategy and a recognition of the priority and importance AceCAD attaches to the Middle East market,” says Charles Wilby AceCAD’s International marketing manager.
“Interest in our products is very high in the region and with spending on new infrastructure, construction, industrial and oil and gas projects at an all-time high, the prospects are good for the Middle East’s steel fabrication industry. However, there will always be a strong demand for best-of-breed productivity tools in steel construction to achieve ever higher productivity both to cope with increased demand and stay competitive,” explains Wilby.
The company is also pleased with the response it has received so far at the regional exhibitions. AceCAD participated at last year’s SteelFab exhibition, where it showcased the new version of StruCad, along with the latest version of StruMIS.
The new version of StruCad has improved performance, better 2D and 3D CAD interfaces, better visualisation tools and enhanced drawing output, guaranteeing to ensure the products continued leadership excellence.
Established in 1986 AceCAD Software has become a leading supplier of software solutions to the international constructional steelwork industry. AceCAD complements its leading range of software titles with products that include training, technical support, drawing offices, design offices, consultancy and a dedicated hardware business.
