Saudi Arabia-based Murostone says it is impressed with the response received for its wide range of stone-like surfacing materials.

The company, an active player in the surfacing business in the region, has three strong product lines – Quartstone, Smartstone and Glasstone which have already elicited a good response from projects across the region.

Quartstone
“Quartstone is the ideal surface for kitchen and vanity tops and counter tops, owing to its high natural quartz content and extraordinary technical properties,” says a spokesman for the company. “Due to the high natural quartz content Quartstone is highly resistant to scratches compared to any natural or synthetic tops. This makes it an ideal choice for a wide range of applications. It is composed of 97 per cent natural quartz and granite with three per cent chemical compounds.
“The Quartstone range includes natural or synthetic tops, which exhibit excellent high-acid resistance and is also suitable for places that demand high quality and durability, such as in restaurants, hotels, shopping centers and airports.

Glasstone
Glasstone – a 100 per cent natural product  – has been developed using space-age technology to withstand extreme conditions, and can be used for a range of architectural applications. The product is environmentally friendly can be used for both internal as well as external building cladding, says the spokesman.
The slabs are a composite of glass, silacaceous and non-organic mineral components that are duly crystallised and reformed under high temperature.
The pure and durable stone surfaces also offer outstanding flexibility in usage as well as in shaping and forming thereby offering architects great value for money, he says.

Smartstone
Smartstone is the smart marble choice for flooring, interior wall and column cladding, vanity and counter tops, and has a high natural marble content and excellent technical properties. “With its attractive colours, Smartstone provides comfort and elegance and uniformity and offers an economical solution for vanity tops. The surfaces can be polished after installation, thereby allowing users to have better finishes. The fact that it is highly resistant to liquids and chemicals, in addition to its homogenous and dazzling colours, make it an ideal choice as a surfacing solution,” he adds
Murostone Technology is a subsidiary of Rabiah and Nassar Group (Ranco), which was established in 1950. Ranco started business as a contracting company and today, has diverse business interests that include trading, engineering, real estate, mining, agriculture and investment.
