TCM says that its recently-launched FR-VII series electric reach truck, equipped with new functions, offers performance levels that go beyond what is offered by conventional reach trucks.
“With the new functions and improvements, we have upgraded travelling stability, operability, economical efficiency and operator comfort,” a TCM spokesman claims. “To improve travelling stability, the new series is now equipped with an auto-lock suspension control system, front wheel brakes, AC drive control system and improved frame rigidity.”
This new reach truck series is now also able to operate longer hours and has been fitted with auto power off system and truck-mounted charger with timer. A great deal of attention has been paid to operator comfort and efficiency.
The spokesman elaborates: “The new reach truck helps minimise operator fatigue through its AC load handling control system, small-diameter steering wheel and traction control system while a wider operator’s compartment, waist and hip support and its easy battery maintenance enhance operator comfort.
Abdullah S Al Ali, general manager of Aljomaih Equipment, TCM’s distributor in Saudi Arabia says: “The FR-VII reach truck is equipped with a controller which constantly monitors the travelling and load-handling conditions, with the rear wheel suspension automatically locked accordingly. When turning, a cylinder automatically locks to prevent the lateral swing of the body and keeps the wheels firmly on the ground. When handling loads, this system controls cross-directional stability.
“The FR-VII is also equipped with electromagnetic-controlled front wheel brakes to ensure good brake performance when carrying heavy loads and at slippery locations, which reduces stopping distance and prevents skid swaying during braking. This system automatically adjusts the traction of the drive wheel to the load and floor condition.
“The truck’s AC motor enables more precise control than a DC motor, thereby reducing start-up shock. Besides the conventional regenerative braking system, the AC control also provides regenerative braking when the accelerator lever is moved to neutral while traveling. When climbing slopes or navigating the curves of a road, the controller automatically increases the traction of the driving wheel,' he adds.
All TCM products are available from the Aljomaih Equipment Company, which also represents Iveco, Case New Holland, Merlo and Nardi of Italy, Claas and MTU of Germany, Tacom of Japan, Nokka-Tume of Finland, Perkins of the UK, Arcusin of Spain, and US-based Valmont Industries, manufacturer of the internationally well-known Valley irrigation systems.
The firm sells a wide range of generator sets and engines, wheel loaders, dozers and graders, concrete mixers, vibratory compactors and asphalt rollers, forklifts and telescopic handlers, marine container straddle carrier and a wide range of agricultural and irrigation equipment and systems to the Saudi market.
