Loba seeks to shine at the Domotex

01 April 2006

German floor coatings supplier Loba is expecting a 15 to 20 per cent increase in sales throughout the Middle East, especially with the real estate development drive in the region increasing the demand for hi-technology products.

Loba, which produces premium parquet floor coatings, now plans to introduce its specialised ultra-violet light floor protection products into the region when it participates at the Domotex Middle East this May.
This specialist carpets and flooring trade show which debuts at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) from May 28 to 30, will be the ideal platform for Loba for making new business contacts and to gain access to the growing markets of the Middle-East, says a Loba spokesman.
“We will be at the show to find new business partners in the region such as dealers and installation teams,” says Rachel Baumgartner, business economist of Loba. “We plan to promote our range of parquet flooring solutions in the Middle East, which as a natural product is becoming more popular in trendy hotels, restaurants, private villas and public buildings.
“We are particularly eyeing growth in the fast-developing markets of Ras Al Khaimah, Abu Dhabi and Qatar,” she adds.
“The company will use Domotex as a platform to launch its Lobadur WS UV-Protect additive, which prevents the darkening of light-coloured wood floors exposed to sunlight and Lobadur WS 2K Contact, which delivers better protection, makes floors easier to clean and is more hygienic,” adds Baumgartner.
Organised by Germany-based Deutsche Messe, Domotex will see some of the bigger names arriving at the DWTC. The exhibitor profile also includes Belgium’s Balta Industries, Miri Iranian Knots, Al Sorayai Carpet Factory from Saudi Arabia, Hassan Maktabi and Sons from Lebanon, Sultaco, the Heritage Group of the UAE, Weitzer from Austria and Hamberger from Germany.
The show will also feature national pavilions from The Netherlands and the Benelux.
“Domotex Middle East will be a window to the shape of the industry for the future,” says Susanne Klaproth, director of Domotex from Deutsche Messe.
Domotex Middle East is expected to attract 300 exhibitors from around the world its very first year. Keynote displays at the event, which is estimated to cover about 12,000 sq m, will include hand-woven and machine-made rugs and carpets, textiles and resilient floor coverings, parquet and wooden flooring, laminates, natural stone and marble flooring, ceramic tiles and the entire range of fitting, laying, maintenance and applications technology.
