LComm’s system gets strong response

01 August 2006

US-based LComm – a leading developer of enterprise and neutral host Wireless Access Systems – says that its recently introduced advanced wireless distribution and management system, has met with overwhelming response in the UAE.

Increasingly more and more property developers are recognising the importance of a state-of-the-art wireless infrastructure in developing intelligent buildings, says a company spokesman.
The LComm wireless solution, introduced in the Middle East by Energy Management Services (EMS) – a leading energy management and energy conservation firm – can be used to effectively manage Wi-Fi (802.11x), cellular, PBX voice, two-way radio and security systems to provide one total productivity solution that can be adapted for any application.
“The concept of smart buildings is gaining currency across the Middle East, with a growing number of property developers now looking to outfit their buildings with high-tech wireless solutions,” says Khaled Bushnaq, managing director of EMS. “Besides reducing costs by eliminating cabling and being highly reliable, a state-of-art in-building wireless management system such as the LComm Wireless Management System (LCWMS) could help building owners generate revenues through providing visitors Wi-Fi- hotspots,” he adds.
LComm solutions can be used in large buildings and high-density population structures such as hospitals, hotels, government buildings, schools, airports, shopping malls, recreational facilities, underground parking lots, manufacturing facilities and warehouses.
The LCWMS is a secure solution that comes equipped with a host of capabilities, and facilitates seamless increase of bandwidth to network destinations. The product significantly enhances the flexibility and productivity of any wireless network, and is designed to add the luxury of a full network wireless bandwidth control with no interruption of service.
LComm’s innovative, secure and cost-efficient wireless infrastructure is currently in the process of being implemented at various projects in the region. It is already installed at Welcare Eye Clinic at the Dubai Health City, where the clinic has implemented its management system over the wireless network and this measure has proved very beneficial in improving the speed and management of workflow within the premises.
“It is heartening to note that the LComm wireless solution is gaining wide acceptance in the UAE. Complementing the advanced features of the LComm systems and lending it an extra edge, is the high level of security it offers, as the solution is equipped to thwart potential intrusion and can address any system vulnerability concerns,” points out Bushnaq.
Over the years, EMS has strengthened its position in the Middle East markets, offering services such as conducting energy audits to identify appropriate energy-saving measures for companies in different sectors, analysis of new facilities to optimise and reduce construction costs and recommending and installing the right energy-saving equipment and controls.
