01 August 2006

Belgium-based IDtech – a leading global company developing and marketing high-tech solutions in the fields of access control, time recording, centralised alarm management and personalised badges – has recently expanded operations with the opening of IDtech Middle East in Ajman, UAE.

The operation was launched in January, following a tie-up with Oceanic for distributing its products in the UAE. Within weeks of opening its office, IDtech Middle East won a contract covering the Dubai airport extension.
IDtech network of international distributors are also based in Africa, Europe, South East and Middle East Asia with a  portfolio that boasts more than 5,000 customers. The number of people using IDtech solutions worldwide is estimated at 1.5 million.
“In operation since 1985, our company develops and manufactures a complete range of products combining hardware and software in order to optimise the security of customer sites and the time management of employees. We provide a range of services, from the analysis of specific customer requirements while setting up the project to personalised training by assistance with the parameterisation of the solution, to end up with the follow-up of installation,” says J Shivaji, regional manager of IDtech, Middle East, which intends to promote its services at the Big 5 show this year (October 28 to November 1).
The company’s role is to unify all the requirements of the customer in its security and time management departments around a special concept of individual identification by badge and/or biometrics. By individual identification, each employee or visitor has access to a whole range of services, from access to various premises at pre-defined schedules, the list of evacuation, to the automatic management of working time, to the capture of holiday requests and work planning, he says.
IDtech also focuses on research and development of solutions that would take care of the customer’s current and future requirements.
“With around 70 per cent of IDtech’s employees concentrated on customer service, its professional team is capable of handling customer queries on a priority basis and can communicate in many languages such as French, Dutch, German, English and Spanish among others,” adds Shivaji.
IDtech, which works on the multi-national principles of business of “think global, act local”, can handle a variety of projects ranging from security issues to employee time management schedules, all of which start with a professional in-depth analysis in order to give the most relevant advice and recommend innovative and reliable long-term solutions.
