State-of-the-art facility to open in US

THE Hempel Group will in early 2000 open a new state-of-the-art production facility in Texas, US, which is strategically located north of Houston. It is Hempel's continued growth that has created the need for this new 107,000 sq ft facility, says a company spokesman.
The complex features a wide range of manufacturing innovations designed to reduce VOC emissions and other environmental hazards. Also included are many features to provide a friendly work place with special focus on health and safety for all Hempel employees.
The new Hempel factory, which is ISO 9001-certified, is designed to manufacture high quality liquid coatings for the marine and heavy-duty industrial markets, including the rail, offshore, container, pipeline, chemical and hydrocarbon processing industries.
One of the main advantages of the new plant is the high level of automation from receiving of raw materials through the packaging of finishing goods. This, being accomplished by a closed computer-controlled manufacturing system, including a state-of-the-art pigging pipeline system, will minimise emissions.
