Global construction solutions provider Terex has secured a major deal to supply site dumpers for the Riyadh Metro project. The agreement, which was coordinated through its distributor in Jeddah, Middle East Development Company (Medco), will see 20 Terex site dumpers manufactured and supplied before the end of 2015, the company said.






Saudi Aramco, the world’s biggest oil producer, is seeking international partners to build and run a mall and hotels in a 10,000-home project in Dhahran at the country’s Eastern Province, said a report. The project, a first from Aramco, will see the state oil giant take a direct role in constructing accommodation for its employees.






Saudi Arabia is constructing a 965-km high-tech “great wall” – a security barrier consisting of a sand berm and two chainlink fences topped by razor wire – along its border with Iraq, said a report.






A number of major Saudi companies are planning to construct thousands of residential units for their employees in Jubail Industrial City, a report said.






Luxury real estate developer Damac Properties has announced that two of its iconic towers in the heart of Riyadh, have been topped out less than two years after work began. The Esclusiva and Damac Tower by Paramount projects on King Fahd Road have now reached their final heights at 32 and 35 floors respectively.






India-based Shree Basaveshwar Sugars Limited (SBSL) has signed an agreement to build a SR1.5-billion ($400 million) sugar refinery in Jazan Industrial City in southern Saudi Arabia, a report said.






Biolab Arabia (BLA), a Saudi chemical company based in Jubail Industrial City, is expanding its plant in four phases, with the first of these phases already under way at a cost $25 million.






Black & Veatch wins SWCC contract Black & Veatch, a leading player in the infrastructure sector, said it has won a contract from Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) for a major desalination project in Jeddah.






Gilbane Federal, a US-based international construction company, has been awarded a $166-million design-and-build construction project for the Royal Saudi Air Force in the southwest of the kingdom.






The Riyadh Metro work is expected to start in two months as the tunnel boring machine (TBM) parts from Germany have arrived, a report said. The assembling of the TBM will take two months, the Arab News report said quoting a source. A 30-m-deep manhole with a diameter of 10 m or more has already been dug at the King Abdulaziz Road.
