Bahrain is working on an ambitious plan to build the region’s biggest water sports and maritime facility in the kingdom. Land has already been earmarked for the project at Salman Town, a major urban development on the north coast, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

The detailed masterplan of Khazaen Economic City (KEC), a new 52-million-sq-m integrated economic city in Barka, Oman, will be unveiled soon by its master developer. Khalid bin Awadh Al Balushi, CEO of KEC, was quoted by Oman News Agency as saying that work on the detailed designs of the city has reached a very advanced stage.

Chevron Phillips Chemical Company has signed an agreement with Qatar Petroleum (QP) to jointly develop, construct and operate a petrochemicals complex in Ras Laffan, Qatar. As per the deal, Qatar Petroleum will own a 70 per cent stake in the joint venture facility that will produce ethylene and high-density polyethylene (HDPE).
