UAE-based AD Ports Group, the region’s premier facilitator of logistics and trade, has announced the signing of a 35-year concession agreement with France-based CMA CGM Group, a world leader in shipping and logistics, for a new terminal to be set up in Abu Dhabi’s Khalifa Port.






Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) said work was moving at a steady pace on its pumped-storage hydroelectric power plant in Hatta with the project nearly 30 per cent completed. On completion, it will have a production capacity of 250 megawatts (MW), a storage capacity of 1,500 megawatt-hours, and a life span of up to 80 years, said Dewa.






HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has approved the allocation of AED65 billion ($17.7 billion) in funding for an Emirati housing programme in Dubai. This comes as part of his Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan for sustainable urban development.

Hitachi ABB Power Grids has announced that it will supply large generator step-up (GSU) transformers, protection and telecommunication systems for the Al Dhafra PV2 Solar project in Abu Dhabi which, on completion, will be the world’s largest single-site solar farm, featuring a total of 3 million solar panels.






The Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (Enec) has announced that following the start-up of Unit 2 of the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant last month, its operations and maintenance subsidiary, Nawah Energy Company, has safely and successfully connected the unit to the UAE grid, delivering the first megawatts of carbon-free electricity from the second






Dubai-based wasl hospitality and leisure, a subsidiary of wasl Asset Management Group, has announced that work is nearing completion on four of its new hotel developments – Hyatt Centric Hotel, Marriott International, Aloft Dubai Airport and Element Dubai Airport, – which will help boost its 6,885-strong hotel rooms portfolio.






Renault Trucks, a leading provider of commercial vehicles for heavy construction and the long-haul segment, has secured a contract from Oryx Mix, one of the UAE’s major concrete suppliers, for supply of 10 heavy-duty K 440 mixers.
