Leading Abu Dhabi developer Aldar Properties (Aldar) has signed an agreement with UAE-based Diamond Developers to launch a fully sustainable and unique community on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island.






Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has announced that work is moving at a steady pace on its 250 MW Hatta hydroelectric power plant, with 35 per cent of the project already completed. On completion, the plant will have a production capacity of 250 MW with a storage capacity of 1,500 megawatt-hours and a lifespan of up to 80 years.

Saudi-based Acwa Power, a leader in power generation and water desalination plants, has announced plans to begin the first phase of Noor Energy 1 project, located in Dubai, with a total capacity of 217 MW. In a filing to Saudi bourse Tadawul, Acwa Power said it had obtained the commercial operation certificate (COD) for the key project.






RAK Hospitality Holding Marjan has joined hands with Wynn Resorts, the US-listed international developer and operator of luxury resorts, for a multibillion-dollar integrated resort development on the man-made Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah.  It is the first beach resort being developed by Wynn Resorts globally.






Abengoa, a Spanish multinational company in the green infrastructure, energy and water sectors, has completed the construction of three solar fields of parabolic trough collectors at the world’s largest solar complex in Dubai.
