Bahrain Bourse joins BAB’s fraud awareness drive
MANAMA, May 19, 2021
The Bahrain Association of Banks (BAB) announced that the Bahrain Bourse has joined the national campaign of fraud prevention awareness.
The campaign targets bank clients, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Anti-corruption and Economic and Electronic Security at the Ministry of Interior, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), the Central Bank of Bahrain, and members of the Association from financial and banking institutions.
Dr Waheed Al Qassim, CEO of the Bahrain Association of Banks, welcomed the Bahrain Bourse’s support for this campaign, affirming the significance of the role that the Bourse can perform by promoting the campaign to shareholders in more than 40 companies listed on the Bourse, including seven commercial banks and several financial and investment institutions.
“BAB is keen to join all efforts to maintain the development and reliability of financial transactions in the Kingdom of Bahrain, especially since the digital transformation of the banking sector and the application of online solutions has led to an increase in the complexity, quality, and size of financial fraud and cybercrime around the world,” Dr Al Qassim said.
“The Association will provide the Bahrain Bourse with the campaign designs and videos to be published through the Bourse's social media platforms and other media channels to support BAB’s efforts to boost public awareness and protect consumers from various methods of financial fraud.” – TradeArabia News Service
