Samsung C&T, a leading Korean construction and engineering company, has signed a solar PV module supply contract with Chinese group JA Solar for a 875MW power project to be built in Qatar.

 

As per the deal, JA Solar will supply more than 1.6 million DeepBlue 3.0 modules for the Qatar Energy Industrial Cities project that covers the Mesaieed Industrial City and Ras Laffan Industrial City.

 

The project, which is set to be the largest photovoltaics (PV) power plant, is expected to go into operation next year.

 

"Our DeepBlue 3.0, which exemplifies the product design philosophy of 'tailored to increase customer value', is highly popular in the Korean market and has been selected by this project because of its high efficiency and reliability," said a JA Solar spokesman. 

 

The DeepBlue 3.0 applies p-type Percium+ cell technology, Ga-doped silicon wafers technology, half-cell technology, and MBB technology to give an excellent power generation performance, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
