Saudi Build ends on successful note, sees record turnout

Saudi Build 2024 concluded its activities in Riyadh, today (November 7), recording an unprecedented turnout with over 30,000 visitors, consolidating its position as a leading event in the construction and building sector.
 
The exhibition, kicked off on November 4 at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Centre, featuring around 600 companies from 31 countries, reflecting the importance of the event as a major destination for investors and experts in the fields of construction and sustainable infrastructure.
 
Saudi Build witnessed the signing of several strategic agreements covering various sectors with the aim of enhancing cooperation, exchanging expertise, accelerating digital transformation, supporting innovation, and developing innovative solutions in the field of sustainable construction and smart infrastructure.
 
Held under the patronage of the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, the exhibition concluded with discussion sessions that addressed modern trends in sustainable lighting and smart housing. 
 
The first session reviewed advanced lighting solutions, focusing on issues such as light pollution and its impact on night sky visibility, as well as lighting design principles that consider human adaptation, color perception, and visual sequencing, said the organisers. 
 
Speakers highlighted the importance of controlling brightness and contrast to highlight important points in public spaces.
 
In the second session, speakers discussed smart housing and business opportunities in this field, along with the close relationship between smart homes and clean energy, and the need to adopt green energy technologies. 
 
The session also addressed the challenges facing investors in this sector and the need for innovation and linking research to marketable solutions.
 
Furthermore, the session discussed the trend towards smart cities and green building practices. Speakers emphasised that the Saudi Building Code imposes stringent sustainability standards, while the Ministry of Energy aims to achieve a 50% renewable energy target by 2030. 
 
Successful examples of this transition were highlighted, such as the replacement of traditional streetlights with energy-efficient LED lights in numerous cities.
 
Saudi Build 2024 concluded with a significant increase in visitor and participant numbers, marking a new record with a 30% growth compared to the previous year. This highlights its pivotal role as a key driver of development in the construction sector and a major destination for those interested in industry advancements at both local and regional levels.-TradeArabia News Service
