Abuse claims by Indian workers in Bahrain probed

MANAMA, September 11, 2015

Diplomats are investigating the complaints of four Indian workers who claim that they have been beaten, abused and not been paid by their employer. Thomas Devasia, 32, Jithesh Arattankandi, 30, Praveen Narayanan, 30 and Asheraf Kunnoth Meethal, 41, all lodged complaints with the Indian Embassy yesterday against a Salmabad-based sewage services company, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
