UAE, Korea sign deal on microelectronics
DUBAI, March 27, 2018
The UAE Ministry of Education recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy of South Korea, for promoting mutual academic cooperation related to microelectronics and semiconductors, said a report.
The agreement will promote the development of the UAE’s education system, support its leadership, and accelerate its development in science and technology, reported state news agency Wam.
The MoU was signed during the official visit of President Moon Jae-in of South Korea to the UAE, to promote their bilateral relations across many vital areas, including the exchange of academic knowledge in science and technology, it said.
The agreement stipulates that both sides will provide support in academic areas related to microelectronics and semiconductors in the UAE, by promoting academic exchange visits between relevant professors, researchers and specialists, as well as providing the necessary support to establish a microelectronics and semiconductors curriculum that is suitable for the UAE’s academic environment, and forming a specialist committee to ensure the MoU’s implementation.
The MoU was signed by Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, and ?Baek Woon-kyu, South Korean Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy, added the report.
