Iran’s trade surplus exceeds $3.4bn
TEHRAN, August 24, 2016
Iran's trade surplus exceeded $3.4 billion during March 20 to July 21 in what is seen as its best post-sanctions trade performance of the country, said a report.
Figures released by Iran Customs Administration revealed that non-oil exports during the mentioned period stood at $16.3 billion which is a growth of 21.11 per cent against the figure for the same period last year, added the Iran Daily News report.
The new wave of petrochemical exports spurred by the removal of sanctions against Iran in January has been instrumental in improving Iran's trade figures, it said.
Exports of petrochemical products in the basket of non-oil products during the period increased by 41.5 percent bringing in $6.7 billion while earnings from other non-oil products stood at over $6.6 billion.
