25 Victoria firms to showcase at Gulfood
DUBAI, February 11, 2020
Global Victoria, the trade and business arm of the Victorian government in Australia in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region, said that more than 25 leading food and beverage companies will showcase their latest offerings at Gulfood 2020, to be held later this month in Dubai, UAE.
The event, a leading annual food and beverage trade exhibition, will run from February 16 to 20 at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).
This major trade event is a vital opportunity to show that despite the recent bushfires, Victoria is open for business and trading partners can continue to have confidence in the quality and safety of Australian agriculture and food exports, said a statement from the team.
Victoria received a triple-A credit rating from agencies Standard & Poor's and Moody's – a rating the team has managed to maintain for the past 18 years, a reflection of its consistently strong economic performance that's delivered 23 years of continuous economic growth in the UAE, it said.
The Mena region is Victoria’s second most valuable export market for halal meat and the UAE market represents 30 per cent of Victoria’s food and fibre exports to the region with meat, grain, dairy and processed foods being the highest value exports.
Showcasing the latest in food technology and innovation, the Global Victoria stand will represent Victoria’s reputation for clean food with robust biosecurity and will shed the light on the role Melbourne enjoys as a leader of food innovation, it stated. – TradeArabia News Service
