Arab Media Forum set for March 2020 in Dubai
DUBAI, September 15, 2019
Dubai Press Club (DPC) said that the 19th edition of the Arab Media Forum (AMF), the region’s leading annual media industry event, will be held from March 25-26, 2020.
The event, being held under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, will bring together thought leaders, influencers, scholars, writers and experts to discuss ways in which the industry can help Arab communities overcome the challenges facing them.
The next edition of the Forum will aim to generate a deeper understanding of how the media can enhance its role in finding solutions to the challenges that hinder the region’s progress. The two-day Forum will look at the key drivers of the development of various media sectors and explore ways to enhance the public’s trust in the press.
Mona Al Marri, president of Dubai Press Club and chairperson of AMF’s organising committee, said, “Next year’s Arab Media Forum will provide another exceptional platform to share perspectives on the diverse forces shaping the media landscape of the region. As the Middle East’s largest and most prominent annual media event, the Forum will feature wide-ranging discussions on how the industry can embrace the diverse opportunities and navigate the challenges that change is bringing.”
“The selection of Dubai as the Capital of Arab Media for 2020 by the Arab Information Ministers Council places further responsibility on our shoulders to make the 19th edition of the Forum a rich platform for exchanging knowledge and ideas on the future of the industry. Over the last two decades, Dubai has grown in leaps and bounds to become one of the world’s leading media hubs.
“The Arab Media Forum is an integral part of this success story. We are extremely proud that the Forum is one of Dubai’s major achievements in the media sector. The annual event has been a witness to the exponential growth of the city’s media industry over the years and the many milestones that have marked its transformation.
“Previous editions of the Forum have seen a vibrant exchange of ideas on the impact of regional and international developments and their ramifications on the Arab media sector. In the upcoming edition, we will continue to bring together leading regional and international media personalities to analyse current realities and global trends and forge a new vision for media in the region,” she said.
Al Marri further said the search for meaningful solutions for the challenges faced by the region and the need for a productive platform for dialogue led to the creation of the Forum. Our effort was to provide an environment for media thought leaders to develop a clear vision for the growth of media sectors. The Arab Media Forum has served as a vital platform for a wide set of industry stakeholders to discuss how media institutions can overcome challenges and seize new opportunities emerging from the ongoing transitional period.
The Arab Media Forum is one DPC’s major events. Other key events organised by DPC include the Arab Journalism Award, the Arab Social Media Influencers Summit and the Emirati Media Forum.
Featuring a number of interactive sessions and side activities, the Arab Media Forum annually draws the participation of around 3,000 media professionals from the Arab world and abroad. Prominent media institutions from across the globe will converge on Dubai during the Forum to exchange expertise and learn about the latest issues concerning the media industry. The event offers numerous opportunities to network and share ideas with the best professionals in the industry. – TradeArabia News Service
