UAE's Hope Probe mission delayed over weather conditions

DUBAI, July 14, 2020

The UAE Space Agency and the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre have postponed the launch of the Emirates Mars Mission’s Hope Probe, to Friday (July 17) due to the weather conditions at the launch site of Tanegashima Island in Japan.
 
The move comes following consultations with senior officials of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (launch service provider), reported state news agency Wam.
 
The new launch date for the UAE’s space mission - the Arab world’s first interplanetary mission - has been set at 12:43am UAE time on July 17, it added.
